Download Brochure (1.4MB)What is planned giving?
Planned giving (or "gift planning") may be defined as the art of helping people learn how they can afford to make more generous charitable gifts than they had thought possible.
(Complete Guide to Planned Giving)

What is a planned gift?
A planned gift is any gift of any kind for any amount for any purpose -- operations, capital
expansion, or endowment -- whether given currently or deferred if the assistance of a professional staff person, qualified volunteer or the donor's advisors is necessary to complete
the gift.
(From the Robert Sharpe Company)

How do I leave my parish a gift in my will?
We invite you to download the document: Suggested Wording to Name Your Parish in Your Will or Trust (in pdf)

Will the Diocese accept a non-cash gift to benefit a parish or organization?
The Diocese has established a Gift Acceptance Policy to protect the donor, the parish or organization and the Diocese. If you have question about a non-cash gift, particularly real estate, please take a look at our policy or give us a call.

Join the Perpetual Light Society!
When you make a significant planned or endowed gift to your parish or school, you are automatically eligible for membership in the Perpetual Light Society. The Perpetual Light Society was established in 1996 by Bishop Doran to thank and celebrate with those parishioners who remember the Church in their will or estate plan. Each member receives a certificate from Bishop, a biannual newsletter called Perpetual Light, and an invitation to a Mass and brunch. For more information on the Perpetual Light Society, please contact Greg Urban at 815-399-4300 x358 or gurban @ rockforddiocese.org.
